- Clan Men back to winning ways
Clan got back to winning ways this morning with a hard fought
3-09 to
2-07 victory over Irish Rovers. Clan dominated the opening exchanges
and raced into 5 point lead. While still dominating play but not taking
their chances Clan allowed Irish Rovers to edge their way back into
the game and at the half there was only three points in it. Irish
Rovers started the second half brightly and chipped away at Clan's
lead. Staunch defending when needed and composed finishing by the
forwards in the last 15 minutes allowed Clan to pull away and claim
the victory. Both sides meet again next week with another entertaining
game expected.

- Sunday's Results
The Men drew with Cormac McAnallens 1-11 to 2-08 in probably
the most entertaining match of the day. After an initial shaky start,
Clan settled and raced into a 0-06 to 0-01 lead. Just as it looked
like Clan would finish the half with a comfortable lead MCAnallens
scored a goal and rattled off two quick points to end the half on
level terms. They continued in the same vein at the start of the second
half opening a gap of 6 points. However Clan fought back and drew
level with a couple of minutes left on the clock. McAnallens pointed
and looked to have claimed the victory however a swift attack by Clan
was rewarded with the leveller and not long after the restart the
hooter went to end the game with honours even. The
Ladies were edged out by 1 point against Michael Cusacks 2-05 to 3-03.
Clan dominated the first half and went into the break 3 points up.
A blistering first 10 minutes of the 2nd half saw the tables turned
as Cusack's quickly bagged two goals. With 5 minutes to go and 6 points
down Clan grabbed a goal and added two points to bring them within
one point. Unfortunately time ran out and they were unable to grab
the point to level the game. In
the camogie Clan were beaten by Michael Cusacks.

- Clan Men start the League campaign with a victory
Clan Men opened their league campaign with a 1-09 to 0-08
victory over current Gosford champions Michael Cusacks. Clan got a
crucial goal in an even first half to go into the break leading 1-04
to 0-04. While on the back foot for a lot of the second half Clan's
defense held firm and the forwards were able to take the scores when
opportunities presented themselves to record a 4 point victory. The Ladies camogie team lost their opening encounter against Craobh
Padraig. While the game was evenly balanced at half time, Clan's lack
of depth on the bench told in the warm conditions with Craobh Padraig
running out worthy winners at the end.
