Sunday, 28th June - Clan Semi Final Disappointment - League Semis
All Clan teams suffered semi-final disappointment during a long day out at Auburn today. In doing so both the Men's and Ladies' team relinguished their League titles. On the face of it an 8pt defeat by the Clan Men at the hands of Michael Cusacks seems to have been a one-sided affair however nothing could be further from the truth. While the Cusacks forwards made all their visits into the Clan back line count they were left thanking their goalkeeper for keeping them in the game. The Cusacks netminder made 6 one-on-one saves against the Clan forward line during the game with 4 in the first half as Clan were left rueing not taking points as they found themselves 7pts down at the half. However with under 10mins remaining Clan fought back to within 3pts but again going for goals rather than points meant that those misses were doublely punished by the Cusacks forwards when the chances presented themselves.

The Clan ladies weakened by player departures and absentees were second best to a strong running Central Coast side that has hit a rich vein of form over the last 4 weeks. The concession of 2 goals at key times during the game left the Ladies with too much to do and the lack of midfield and forward power, which were evident early on in the season, meant a comeback was never likely. Given the unprecedented success of the Clan Ladies over the last few seasons, not making this final will act as a major motivator for the Championship as they seek to remain their grip on that trophy.

With most of the Camogie Ladies having played a full 60mins not long before the throw of this semi, the tiredness was evident as Cusacks ruthlessly gained revenge for their league defeat in the previous round. Despite this defeat the Camogie Ladies made great strides in the first half of the 2009 season and will be looking to continue the improvement during the Championship.

Sunday, 14th June - Clan record triple victory - League Rnd 10
All Clan teams faced Cusack opposition today with Clan recording vital victories in all. The Ladies were first up and faced the yet unbeaten Cusacks team who had already secured top spot. The Clan Ladies dictated from the start and once ahead never looked like being caught as the matched any Cusacks rally with scores themselves. The Cusacks Men also had secured top spot in the Men's League and were unbeaten to date. Clan Men had to win to stand any change of securing the last playoff spot. The first half was all Clan, however the halftime score of 1-03 to 0-00 didn't do Clan's dominance justice. Wasteful shooting and a couple of point blank saves by the Cusacks keeper stopped the game being over by halftime. Cusacks showed their class in the 2nd half as Clan's distribution from the back was sloppy and duly punished. With a few minutes left the scores were level at 1-05 apiece. Clan had a chance to wrap it up but pointed when a goal seemed easier. However the Clan backs held firm to secure a 1pt victory. A Young Irelands victory over McAnallens in a tight last game of the day meant that Clan claimed the last play off spot on superior goal difference. The Camogie Ladies wrapped up a fantastic League Round Robin stage with a 1pt victory over Cusacks however missed out on 2nd place by points difference. Regardless this win meant that Clan have gone unbeaten since losing their first two games.
